Sci Yoga is a special Yoga school founded by the author of The Yoga Science. We aim to provide research-backed education on Yoga. Therefore, our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course (YTTC) is not only scripture-backed but also research-backed. Our teachers hold at least a master’s degree in Yoga, and not just Yoga certificates. Our core strength lies in the best Yoga Anatomy, Asana Alignment and Adjustment, Flawless Course Manuals, Solid Doubt Resolution, Strong Sequencing, and more.
At Sci Yoga, we offer an exceptional 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course (YTTC) with an emphasis on science. Our founder and course facilitator, Divyansh Sharma, is the author of the book ‘The Yoga Science’ published by the reputable Penguin Random House imprint Hay House. Therefore, we take pride in our Yoga Anatomy, Asana alignment and adjustment labs, Yoga Sequencing, and Asana practice with applied Biomechanics. However, this doesn’t mean we don’t have the best philosophy classes. Our teachers hold master’s degrees in Yogic science and have studied under prestigious Gurus; therefore, our Yoga philosophy is also special.
Moreover, at Sci Yoga, we teach primarily two forms of Active Yoga practices, Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga, during the in-person course. However, we provide you with Ashtanga recordings in which our teacher, Bholi Parihar, shares in-depth knowledge of Ashtanga. With our approach, our students do exceptionally well in Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga teaching while learning Ashtanga. Ashtanga (Vinyasa) Yoga is a fixed sequence with several nuances. We, as an ethical Yoga school, believe learning Ashtanga Vinyasa in a short-term course is difficult. Ashtanga has about 75 individual Asanas, practised in a fixed sequence. Ashtanga needs really long-term practice to get into the muscle memory. For this reason, we offer Ashtanga in an online recording so you can learn and practice it at your own pace. However, we cover all of the Ashtanga Vinyasa theory with our Yoga wisdom and Yoga philosophy sessions.
In our YTTC, our focus is on the biomechanics of Asanas. We discuss key topics, such as muscle actions, joint actions, adjustments, modifications, and cueing. Knowing these vital terms helps us to develop X-ray vision for Asanas. We become better at adjustments, understanding why someone is struggling with the right posture and where to focus. As a result, we don’t just become a Yoga teacher, but a Yoga teacher specialised in Yoga biomechanics. We have special classes, which we call Yoga ABC, Yoga Alignment, and Biomechanics Classes. These classes are our flagship classes where we transform you from a student to a teacher. Making you almost a sneaky Yoga Ninja.
Yoga is an ancient science developed over 8000 years. Yoga is considered to be a Darshan in Indian traditions. The Sanskrit term Darshan means to seek or to observe. To seek or observe, we need seekers or observers who were the Rishis (Sages), Maharshis (Great sages), and Sant (Monks). They were the ancient observers who developed timeless wisdom that can be replicated and reproduced today to give similar outcomes.
The aforementioned definition is intricately similar to what we today call research. And therefore, we believe ancient Yogis were ancient scientists who gave birth to Yoga, an ancient science. They discovered, they replicated, and they got similar results. After thousands of years, when millions around the world did it, it is still relevant.
We are a Yoga school that helps you distinguish and learn both ancient philosophies and their contemporary use cases, backed by science. While doing so, we avoid using pseudo-scientific claims as much as possible. We have seen numerous teachers mixing Yogic concepts like Chakras, Nadis, Kundalini, etc., with modern science for almost everything, which we want to avoid. Because it not only disrespects the scientific principles but also the Yoga and its science.
With our Yoga anatomy and physiology sessions, we help you unpack your body into bits and pieces. This helps you to understand that, beneath our skin, we are all surprisingly similar. We each have a heart, two lungs, lymphatic vessels, 206 bones, and many more, each operating just the same. However, despite two humans having similar joint functions, no two humans will walk just the same. This isn’t because of our race, ethnicity, or skin colour, but variations in our joint shapes, muscle lengths, ligaments, etc.
We believe in Indian traditions, where we say:
वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam
Meaning, the world is one family.
Therefore, with our anatomy, our idea is to build the body from cells to the organ systems, understanding each in detail, and also learn humility and harmony. Because without harmony, peace, and co-existence, Yoga (the union) is incomplete.
Humans are the offspring of nature. We thrive not in cities, but in nature. Our campuses in India focus on nature, a serene landscape, and peace. Science also supports such a landscape. It turns out that when we can see the entire horizon, we feel relieved and relaxed. We feel away from danger, stress, and chaos. Therefore, if you are choosing to carry your precious Yoga teacher training days with us, you will not regret it.
We are a Yoga school that maintains discipline, teaches authentic Yoga, and has an evidence-based approach. We take a scholarly approach to Yoga education, and we strive to support everything with books or research. Having been founded by a published author is reflected in our educational material, our manuals, book recommendations, and doubt resolution.
Indian traditions gave birth to, statistically, the most peaceful philosophies of the world: Hindu Philosophy, Buddhist Philosophy, Jaina Philosophy, and Tibetan Philosophy.
All of these philosophies focus on nature, harmony, peace, and co-existence. These philosophies travelled across the world, shaping the world for the better. Remnants of these philosophies are there across all of the world. At Sci Yoga, we help you experience the richness of Indian traditions, from the roots, with their true meaning. This leaves a positive change in all of your life.
Our teachers come from India. However, they have been to various countries and taught students from over 125 countries. Therefore, they have greater empathy for our students who come from all across the globe. They understand varying needs, varying cultures, and varying intentions. As a result, students get comfortable very soon.
At Sci Yoga, our emphasis is also on injury prevention. This is the reason why we cover our Yoga Anatomy in detail. Our idea is to have graduates who will keep Ahimsa, non-harm, as their core values when they teach.
Please note: We cannot guarantee every Asana will be covered during the course. This is just a tentative list of postures that we strive to cover.

Sci Yoga was founded by Divyansh Sharma, who is widely recognised for his book ‘The Yoga Science.’ He holds a master’s in Yogic Science and is an ERYT-500. He has been bending, stretching, and meditating since 2010. His knowledge of Yoga anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics is hard to miss. His ability to simplify complex topics into simpler, digestible ones is commended by the students.
Bholi Parihar, an Ashtangi and an experienced sound healer, co-founded Sci Yoga. She practised Ashtanga Yoga under Shrimati Saraswathi Jois Ji (Born in 1941) and also learned Pranayama under BNS Iyengar (Born in ~1926). Her Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Asana Alignment and Adjustment classes have touched many, and each simply admires her talent. She teaches vivid topics in YTTC, each with love.
Together, Divyansh and Bholi have taught various Yoga courses to students from over 125 countries.

Building your Yoga practice is another important recommendation. Many students come directly for YTTC and experience exhaustion in the initial days, partly jet lag and partly a lack of physical Yoga practice.
Learning to accept everything is the first step in entering Yoga. Most people struggle to accept people, accept things, and accept circumstances as they are. They question everything; they question God, they question their luck, they question why me. Accept and just accept; don’t resist, is the first thing we would suggest. Accept your teachers, accept your colleagues, accept your fellow students.
We encourage you to read several books on Yoga. Reading these books will enrich your knowledge across all spectrum of Yoga. These books are highly rated, and our previous students really admired them. These books include:
Sci Yoga has numerous fun activities throughout the courses. However, despite this, our courses are not for people who want leisure time. We want to attract people who want to become Yoga teachers or who have a keen interest in Yoga. Our YTTC is not for people looking for vacations along with Yoga teacher training.
Classes offered by Sci Yoga are mandatory. In case of any illness or any other compelling reason, we may allow participants to take leave; however, uniform long leaves are still not allowed. Yoga Alliance, the certification body, has strict norms for this. Therefore, you have to comply with these regulations to attain a completion certificate. Longer leaves will restrict the school from offering only a participation certificate, as directed by Yoga Alliance.
Our refund policy is standard, and almost all Yoga schools follow similar refund policies. The provisions of the refund policy are as follows:
Our refund policy is critical for planning, management, and operations. Multiple people depend on our school for their livelihood. If we don’t have sufficient funds, it will impact our operations and, in turn, multiple lives. Please accept our sincere apology for such a restricted refund policy.

The Indian version of the vegan diet is the lacto-vegetarian diet. As we saw earlier, a lacto-vegetarian diet is a vegan diet, but with milk products, without eggs or animal products. Whereas a vegan diet is a completely cruelty-free diet, and even cow milk derivatives are discouraged.
Yes and no! In Yoga, a diet is advised in accordance with the practice of Ahimsa or non-harm. If your diet abides by the law of non-harm, then it is advised. The ancient Yogic scriptures advocate a lacto-vegetarian diet because in India, it is cruelty-free. Unlike the West, in India, there are strict rules against the exploitation of cows. For centuries, Indians have had pet cows and cared for them as their own family members. They are fed meals every day, cared for, medicated, and their calves are given priority over their milk. Eating, exporting, selling, or using cow beef is strictly prohibited in Indian laws. However, in the contemporary world, a vegan diet is also encouraged.
Yes, you need it. Intense Yoga practices also build muscles. For regrowth, these muscles require protein. Trust us that most Yoga schools cannot take care of your protein requirements during the course. The reason for this is multifaceted, including cost, digestion, bloating, allergies, etc. Hence, we would always recommend that you bring your own protein.
Whether you need a visa for India or not depends on the passport that you are holding. For many countries, India gives smooth visa process. However, you still need to submit several details to enter India.
India is a country where several attempts have been made to hurt its people. Therefore, Indian security is one of the toughest in the world. You are thoroughly checked to ensure your safety as well as the safety of all citizens.
Indian currency is called INR or Indian National Rupee. If you are holding dollars or euros, then you can easily get a good value against INR. Goods and services are much cheaper in India than in many countries. To understand how much money you will get against your currency, you can refer to Google.
